Ideas cannot be copyrighted, only actual works. That’s why jack cannot transcribe one of Tod Wilbur’s recipes and repost it here, but he can recast the instructions in his own words and put it anywhere he wants to (including publishing his own book).

Advice for the topping. When mixing butter with just about anything, DONT use your hands. It melts the butter. Use a pastry cutter. That way the butter stays cold.

If the butter is supposed to melt, then disregard this suggestion ;)

thanks. I was so deathly sick. Thankfully it didn’t show. I screwed up the baking soda mention and the baking powder mention. I just barely made it through that recipe. LOL

Yeah I agree, in fact pretty much all his burgers clones are the same since its just “flatten out some minced beef patties and sprinkle with a little salt”
Top video by the way Jack, I’ll have to try that one now.

  24. jakatak69 on March 8th, 2010

you can alter any way you want. it will still be a great coffee cake. I might add extra butter to moisten the cake, but it was delicious.

    Jack, I’m loving your videos.

I’m writing because I noticed you “buttered” the pan with Country Crock in this video. That’ll work with a brand new non-stick pan, but your viewers should use real margarine, butter, or shortening if the pan isn’t brand new and non-stick. Country Crock contains ingredients that can actually make things stick.

By the way, one of the secrets of Starbucks baking is that they use English cinnamon instead of American cassia cinnamon. Penzeys has it.
