Most of what Splenda is, is bulking agents. Thats what makes it look like snow lol I hate it! Makes me wonder what kinds of things you can use stevia (a natural no cal sweetener) for. I like using that in cereal and coffee myself =D
Are you gonna do things like sweet and low and other sugar substitutes?
what does baking powder do for a recipe?
That is a big old box of Splenda.
splenda is gross! mmm i want cookies!
Just like wine tasting. Look, smell, taste. But these were cookiiiiies! Omnomnomnom…
2 tea spoons of sugar is like 1 of splenda
yay…a new video..been waiting for you to update it…love all your videos… =)
Hey jack, I noticed this issue as well when I made cookies, but you should try it in something that has more ingredients such as a cake or breads but i agree, its crap for cookies.
Hey Jack, love the show but whatever happened to the breakfast of champions?
What a huge box that the EZcracker (never hear of it before) came in! O_O
- why do we need to blend wet and dry separate? (its rare I cook, lol so curious).
— Anyways thanks for testing them out! Now next test Sweet n’ Low vs. Sugar! XD

My 3 Favorite Things Together: Mythbusters, The Kitchen And Jack
Packaged foods with Splenda generally add other ingredients like glycerin to help recreate the hygroscopic qualities of sugar to help retain that “creamy” mouth texture which also aides tastebuds detecting sweetness. And lack of sugar also means lack of the browning maillard reaction. Sometimes they still keep some sugar, or they might use sugar alcohols or just add caramel color, kind of like how they add caramel color to frozen sausages so they look recognizably cooked out of the microwave.
@Deism one of the main reasons that you mix them seperately is so that you don’t over mix. If you mix them together too much like many people do they can end up being a chewy kind of texture.its called the biscuit method cause thats how you mix biscuits and other things like it. or maybe its the muffin method cant remember which ones which.
i love your shows because your so real… not those other fake videos that are bias.
ur wife is a walmart shopper, isn’t she? lol… i recognize those walmart bowls. i may have a couple myself =)
ps: maybe u should take a sip of water between the two taste tests, just to be more fair.
I never really use splenda in any sort of baking but I do remember diet coke made with splenda and it was definitely better than the regular diet coke ( not that I prefer ANY diet coke ). Good video!
